At Geelong Community & Care Services (GCCS), we are committed to managing incidents promptly, safely, and transparently to protect the wellbeing of participants, families, and workers.
All incidents are managed in line with the NDIS Code of Conduct and our internal policies and procedures.
An incident may include:
Injury or illness
Behavioural incidents
Safety concerns or hazards
Accidents during support delivery
Complaints related to safety or wellbeing
All incidents are taken seriously, regardless of severity.
When an incident occurs:
Immediate action is taken to ensure safety
First aid or emergency services are provided if required
The incident is reported and documented
Appropriate follow-up and review is completed
Our priority is always the safety and wellbeing of the participant.
✔ All incidents are recorded using the Incident & Complaint Form
✔ Incidents are reviewed to identify risks and prevent recurrence
✔ Participants and relevant parties are informed where required
Reportable incidents are managed in line with NDIS requirements.
Where appropriate, GCCS:
1. Identifies potential risks
2. Develops Risk & Emergency Response Plans
3. Reviews risks regularly to maintain safe supports
This helps us deliver supports safely and responsibly.
Participants have the right to:
Be informed about incidents affecting them
Receive safe and respectful supports
Raise concerns without fear of negative consequences
We encourage open communication at all times.
